On May 1 local time, the construction of the asphalt overlay, terminal renovation and ancillary projects at Hoskins Airport in Papua New Guinea commenced. This is the fourth airport project undertaken in the country by China Railway Construction Engineering Group, a subsidiary of CREC, following Vanimo Airport, Kavieng Airport, and Goroka Airport.
Located in Hoskins, West New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea, the project covers a total construction area of approximately 998 square meters. The main scope includes upgrading the 2,020-meter runway with an asphalt overlay, terminal repairs, and related auxiliary works.
Once completed, the project will significantly improve the airport’s infrastructure, playing a vital role in promoting local economic and social development and facilitating travel for the local population.
