On November 25, the field verification test flight at Hohhot Shengle International Airport, in which China Railway Beijing Engineering Group participated, was successfully completed.
Located in Qiaoshiying Town, Horinger County, Hohhot City, the airport is the first 4F-class airport in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region—the highest classification for civil aviation aerodromes. It features two parallel runways and a complete taxiway system, a 260,000-square-meter terminal building, an apron with 130 aircraft stands, a 50,000-square-meter transportation transfer center, and a 95,000-square-meter parking facility. The current phase is designed to meet targets by 2030 of handling 28 million passengers annually, 320,000 tonnes of cargo and mail, and 244,000 aircraft movements, and is capable of accommodating large aircraft operations.
The Section 9 airfield pavement works, in which China Railway Beijing Engineering Group participated, cover a construction area of approximately 310,000 square meters. The scope includes ten sub-projects such as earthworks and ground treatment, pavement works for runways, taxiways and aprons, as well as pavement construction for service roads and airfield patrol roads.
