Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Cassa Road Project in Timor-Leste

Recently, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Cassa Road Project in Timor-Leste, undertaken by China Overseas Engineering Group. Government officials including Samuel, Minister of Public Works of Timor-Leste; Gil, Minister of Veterans Affairs; Julio, Vice Minister of Infrastructure; and Jacinto, Vice Minister of State Administration, together with the project construction team from China Overseas Engineering Group’s Timor-Leste branch and over 100 representatives from local communities, attended the event.

In his speech, Minister Samuel emphasized that the implementation of the project will create more employment and business opportunities for local communities, support the development of industries such as tourism and agriculture, and play a significant role in improving living standards and transportation convenience for residents. He called on local communities, local governments, and veterans’ groups to actively support and cooperate with the project to ensure its smooth progress and timely completion.

The Cassa Road Project in Timor-Leste is an important national highway connecting Covalima Municipality and Ainaro Municipality, with a total length of 7 kilometers and a contractual construction period of 12 months.
