Arusha, Tanzania – On April 17 local time, a delegation led by Tanzanian Prime Minister Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba, Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Paul Makonda, Minister of Works Abdullah Hamis Ulega, and Governor of Kilimanjaro Province Nurdin Hassan Babu inspected the construction site of the Arusha Comprehensive Stadium EPC Project undertaken by China Railway Construction Engineering Group.

Prime Minister Nchemba listened in detail to work reports on project construction progress, overall layout planning and on-site operation and management, and affirmed the construction achievements made by the project at the current stage. He pointed out that upon completion and commissioning, the project will become a key landmark building in Tanzania, holding far-reaching strategic value for showcasing the country's international sports influence and popularizing mass football.

Covering a construction area of about 41,500 square meters, the Arusha Comprehensive Stadium can accommodate more than 30,000 spectators with a total building height of 46.9 meters. It adopts a reinforced concrete frame structure as the main structure, and a composite structural system of "partial truss-single-layer spatial grid" for the roof and facade, with a total steel consumption of 7,762 tons for the steel structure. As a key practice to deepen China-Africa cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the project will fill the gap of modern large-scale sports facilities in northern Tanzania, create a large number of local jobs, drive the upgrading of surrounding infrastructure and commercial development, and be of far-reaching significance for promoting regional economic and social development as well as China-Tanzania friendly cooperation.
